Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Bunnyhyde
……………………………………….
The Illustration Friday theme this weeke is “Foggy.”
I think of foggy, and London comes to mind. I think of London, and Robert Louis Stevenson’s “Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde” comes to mind. I think of “Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde” and immediately think of bunnies.
Doesn’t everyone?

What Barney thought was a cool refreshing celery juice, was in fact, a glass of sour rhubarb cocktail… a common mistake in the bunny community.

The Illustration Friday theme for this week is sour.

EXTREME POGO BUNNY, FIERCE COMPETITOR
For the 21 Day Creative Exercise, I’m still working on series, action and consistency. I have a ways to go, but it’s been a fun process. Also, with a bit of a stretch, it fits the Illustration Friday theme.
Aint’ life grand?
21 day creative exercise-day 5
June 27, 2008
Tom and I went to a baseball game tonight, (Dodgers vs. Angels,) for the first time in a long, long while. We took off for the stadium right after work, so we were tired and famished. However, after wolfing down a couple of Dodge Dogs, peanuts, beer and partaking in several waves we were completely in the spirit of things.
Things have changed a bit since the last time I was at a game. For one, there are screens everywhere, so you don’t miss a single play. Especially if you are like me and become easily distracted. Also, the peanut vendors, well they’re still there, but they have competition. Some guy was hawking California Pizza Kitchen mini pizzas. I was waiting to see him toss one at a customer, but no dice. Only peanuts get tossed I guess.
Dodgers kicked some Angel arse, by the way.
Got home late and figured I better squeeze out a sketch. So Mr. Bunny obliged by posing as a Dodger pitcher. Of course, he could have dispensed with the chew. We really don’t have to be all THAT authentic, do we?

His form gets a little sloppy towards the end, but… HE STICKS THE LANDING!
So, in an effort to continue studying and practicing action and consistency of character while keeping the sketching pace loose and spontaneous, this little back-flipping bunny just hopped write onto the page of my sketch book. And that would have been just great, if I hadn’t then, gone home and started getting all persnickety with it, which sort of defeats the purpose of this exercise. No matter. It was fun.
I think I may study the actual body movement of a back flip and see if, in the future, I can maybe revisit this acrobatic furball and improve his form. What with the Olympics being just around the corner and all. In the mean time, I am enjoying the process… and TRYING to be looser and more spontaneous.

Fossils of the lesser known Bunnisaurus Rex have been found in a variety of rock formations dating to the last three million years of the Carrotaceous period, approximately 68 to 65 million years ago.
Like the Tyrannosaurus Rex, the Bunnisaurus was bipedal, with a massive skull balanced by a long heavy cotton-tipped tail and very small forearms. Unlike the Tyrannosaurus Rex, the B Rex, as they are sometimes referred to, were herbivores, feeding on the now extinct intelligent form of carrot. Further differences of note include: fluffiness and mood swings ranging from giddy to dangerously annoyed.
The Illustration Friday theme this week is “Primitive.”

… have all the bunnies gone?
We’re well into April now and I have yet to see evidence of even one single long-eared silhouette within the neighborhood. Not in our yard. Not in the neighbor’s yard. Not even the yard down the street, where there was once a veritable bunny sock-hop going on, one Spring.
This Spring, it seems the housing development up the street has slowed down it’s building, for obvious economic reasons. So my hope is, although housing production for us humans has slowed, perhaps bunny hutch building is, as a result, booming. At hutching bubble, if you will.
It seems very possible that our little cotton-tailed friends have packed up their bunny bags and headed for greener pastures. Either that or they’ve all been abducted by aliens and were whisked away to a planet where they will now peacefully co-exist with the long, tall, conical shaped, orange people with bushy green hair.

HEAVY METAL BUNNY
Murgatroyd was just your average, run-of-the-mill bunny, until that fateful day he hopped into Bob’s Music Center, picked up a guitar and felt the pure, raw power of the Flying V.
Illustration Friday’s theme this week is “Heavy.”

Like I haven’t been grouchy enough the past week or so, but now robots are stalking me.
No, it’s not that 24 hour brain tumor acting up again, causing me paranoid hallucinations. I am literally plagued by robots. They’ve been filling up my IM buddy list for some time now and this weekend these pesky things started following me on Twitter. Three of them this weekend. It’s making me cranky.
I know, it’s harmless, but in my relative ignorance to this whole phenomenon, I feel vulnerable to possible malicious bot attack. It could happen, you know.
Well, it could.
Wikipedia says this about Internet Robots. See what you think.
Anyway speaking of bots, the SFG challenge this week is “Mechanical,” so I thought I’d throw a Bunny Bot into the mix. These guys thrive on the color orange, especially the type derived from keratin, found in carrots. They are used largely for egg distribution and not much else. So the debate still rages on whether or not to continue shipping eggs via truck or Bunny Bot.
Seems to me it may be greener to go BB.
