Wooooo hoooo! We did it, y’all!
Wouldn’t you know, my last sketch would be the most rushed. I’m out the door right now. But I wanted to thank each and every person who stopped by to root me on this month! You just can’t know how much that helped me. I feel like I’ve gotten my mojo back!
I also want to thank all the talented, inspiring bunch of sketchers who joined me in SkADaMo! This year was much enriched by everyone’s participation and cheerleading for each other! You all rock!
So, of course, since I’m a glutton for punishment, I think I’ll do HoHoDooDa again this year. I hope my partners in crime join me again, if they can, they are busy talented ladies! Of course, anyone who feels the spirit move them can join as well.
Have a happy, happy holiday season everyone!

My lovely husband suggested hookah smoking reindeer as a sketch today. In order to keep it kid-friendly I made it a bubble hookah. Although I don’t imagine there is any such thing.
Oh no! I just “Googled” it and there IS such a thing! Still involves tobacco!
Well, ok, these health-conscious reindeer are making tobacco-free, candy cane flavored bubbles with this hookah!
Aaaanywho, check out my fellow SkADaMoers here.

Some of my favorite be-whiskered folk are otters.
Ya know, for some reason, even though I realize they are different critters, “Muskrat Love” was playing in my noggin while I drew these guys. Something about “nibbling on bacon, chewin’ on cheese…”

Or as some of us call it “Stuff-your-face-until-you-can’t-even-see-straight Day!
But seriously, thank you, everyone who has every stopped by, everyone who has ever left an inspiring comment, an insightful critique or just a hello. I am so so grateful to you all!
Happy Thanksgiving, all y’all!
So this is another redo of an older sketch, done in digital pencil as opposed to the original’s graphite pencil.
If you get a chance, please stop by and check out my fellow SkADaMoers here.

As I sat down to sketch, I realized I was dragging a bit lately, and that’s when this here dragon popped into my head.
Get it? Dragging, dragon. Sigh.
Anyway, being tired and cranky paid off tonight.

Lately I’ve been feeling as if I’m moving at a snail’s pace… which wouldn’t be so bad, if it was this snail.
This is a redo of a sketch from years ago. Tweaked it a bit and sketched it in digital pencil again, as opposed to the original, which was with my trusty mechanical pencil. Oh, and I killed two birds with one stone for Illustration Friday’s “Zoom.”
Actually, a couple of birds were killed with one stone (although no actual birds were harmed in the making of this post.) This is a seed for a PiBoIdMo idea. So, ya know, I’ve got that goin’ for me.

Miles and Becky couldn’t quite put their finger on it, but there was something just a little bit different about Great Aunt Mildred today.
Hey, it’s lucky day number 13! This came to me while PiBoIdMo-ing this morning.
Be sure to stop by and check out the other fabulous SkADaMoer’s links here.
Oh, and while you’re at it, stop by PiBoIdMo (Picture Book Idea Month) for some very inspiring posts. It may be too late to join this year, but if you are interested in writing and or illustrating a picutre book, think about it next year. It’s amazingly inspiring!

One of my favorite things to do, sit in a cafe, drinking a cuppa joe and stealth-sketching folks. You’ll notice everyone is in profile, because I was too chicken to draw anyone who was looking in my direction. I used to be pretty savvy at the casual glance and jot, glance and jot. But it’s been a while. Need to get my cafe stealth-sketch mojo back.
Be sure to stop by and check out my fellow SkADaMoers.
