RUDE AWAKENING

I know what you’re thinking. You’re thinking, there’s nothing particularly challenging about this sketch… no attempts at action, no endeavors to create a series, no effort made to look up a dragon’s nostrils. Where’s the challenge in drawing a squirrel, you ask?

Well, I’ll have you know, there was indeed a challenge tonight. Keeping my eyes open. For some reason, I am so tir…zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

This is one of those “Dang. I wish I’d thought of that!” kind of things.
    Absolutely love this. Bravo!

This critter’s gonna have to live on shakes if he attampts to eat that thing.
    Lovely.
    Take care, Aaron.

btw…sketching such a cute and lovely squirrel is definitely a challenge for me…even if I’m very awake!

  5. Nancy Lefko Says:

    he’s a sweet fellow….but he’s gonna break a tooth is he’s not careful 🙂

I think that is a challenge to all of us who try and stay up late to get some drawing in.

BTW… I’d like to see the tree that nut fell out of!

  7. Mary Beth Says:

Oh that poor squirrel – didn’t his mother teach him not to pick up stray nuts – you never know what quality you’re going to get! Send him over to my house – the riverside cafe is open for business!

  8. That’s what you do when you’re tired?
    Pretty amazing!

Very nice sketch. Get some sleep!

How about how you exceeded at showing his interest in a nut of another variety as well as the tongue hanging out in anticipation of tasting said nut. And his grip on the nut, and his perfect footsies ( you’re ace at feets and toeses!) So, how about THAT miss sleepy eyes, huh??? You’re good even when you don’t know it. XXX 🙂
    Nighty-night.

  12. Mary Says:

I love squirrels, so I’m glad you drew him and he is indeed in for a “rude awakening” if he tries his little teeth on that nut! Cute!

  13. Nice squirrel, and a funny concept. He looks very hungry and I dont think just one nut will do, especially the wrong kind. Your 21 day creative exercises are great, good luck with your future work, love it.
