instinct

Fortunately for jazz lovers everywhere, Maynard (the hottest clarinet player this side of the pond), decided to ignore his animal instinct and follow instead, his bliss.
I’m very excited to announce that my Catpid won second place at the Anti-Valentines Day contest over at Dabbled! I waited until the last minute to enter but it paid off.
If you get a chance hop on over to Dabbled and check it out. There’s always something fun going on over there.
celebrate
February 17, 2009
Unaware of war, economic woes or Joaquin Phoenix’s quitting acting to pursue a hip hop career, the bunnies danced. Oh how they danced.
“Life is good!” they thought.
Moral of the story: Ignorance is bliss. Take a news break today. Just one day… it won’t kill ya? Then, party like a bunny and celebrate the simple things in life… if only for a day.

THE INTREPID CATPID
This little feline seraph is my entry in Dot at Dabbled’s Anti V-Day Contest. The idea is to do something a little darker or creepier than the usual Valentine’s Day fare. Where my little friend here lacks in darkness and creepiness, he more than makes up for in sheer convenience, as he was already created last year. I added a bit of blood in hopes that one of the judges might find it kind of dark… Creepy maybe… if you squint?
Alright, I’m tryin’ over here!
………………………………….
Check out Dabbled too, if you get a chance. It’s a wonderful place to visit!

IN A RACE AGAINST TIME
Murgatroid soon realized his race against Time was futile. What he did not realize, however, was that Time had, just that morning, tested positive for steroids.
out on a limb
February 2, 2009
No, I’m not speaking of Shirley MacLaine’s New Age novel from the 80’s.
Nope, not talking about risk taking.
In fact, I believe “hanging by a thread” might be a more appropriate term, (if you’ll allow me to be a bit melodramatic.) To put it in more realistic and simple terms, I’ve been procrastinating this whole weekend and am now scrambling to get all my illustration work done, including this here post. Trying to get it all done before getting back to the old day job tomorrow morning.
It’s all just part of my flawed ability to manage time.
However, everything tends to come together nicely in the end, with little or no injury and my sanity somewhat intact. In fact, I seem to do my best under pressure of looming deadlines. So really, no complaints, just a little kitty hanging on a limb, bearing an expression that mimics mine at the moment.
I’m going to resist telling you that I’m “hanging in there”, but really, we’ll both be fine. Like all felines, he’ll land on his feet, and I’m pretty sure I will as well.
