celebrate
February 17, 2009
Unaware of war, economic woes or Joaquin Phoenix’s quitting acting to pursue a hip hop career, the bunnies danced. Oh how they danced.
“Life is good!” they thought.
Moral of the story: Ignorance is bliss. Take a news break today. Just one day… it won’t kill ya? Then, party like a bunny and celebrate the simple things in life… if only for a day.

I love, love, love this Linda!!! So happy is contagious!!
I have to say that this is the most kid appealing piece I’ve seen of yours. I love everything you do, but this one speaks kid’s book! It would make a wonderful portfolio piece for a kidsillustration if you ever wanted to work towards that. Wonderful illo my friend! :o)

I can tell you had fun doing this illustration. The characters movements are so expressive and the coloring is great. I really like it. And a great story to go with it as usual.

Amen! Celebrate like you don’t know what’s going on! Or, dare I say, know what’s going on and find reasons to celebrate anyway.
February 17, 2009 at 11:15 am
Look at the bunnies and the frogs doing their ‘leap’ dance, so much fun!

February 17, 2009 at 6:18 pm
Love it! This is my favorite entry for the topic. Perfect.
February 18, 2009 at 9:01 am
This is also one of my favourite entries this week. It really made me smile, the movement is great, just the right amount of detail on the bunnies and turtles and i like the soft edge frame, is it called a vignette? Lovely colouring too and i like your commentary, sometimes i think we do have to think / act like a child in order to enjoy life. It helps us to be positive and surely that can help some people in the world in some way?
February 18, 2009 at 9:30 am
Gotta hand it to those bunnies… they sure know how to live it up.
I try to turn my bunny brain on as much as possible.
Another great illustration, Linda!!

For some reason, when I saw this I remember singing, Here we go ’round the mulberry bush! It was a fond memory and they look like they’re having so much fun! Great illustration, but I didn’t expect any less! 🙂
February 19, 2009 at 1:21 pm
They do look happy. Ah, ignorance is bliss. Couldn’t resist. Great Illo tho.

Such freedom and carefree joy. LOVE it! The frogs must be swing-dancing. And how bizarre is Joaquin Phoenix now?! I saw a clip of his Letterman interview, and man, oh man!
February 20, 2009 at 3:27 am
adorable bunnies – as always! they’re dancing their easter-waiting hip hop aren’t they? 🙂 i think i can spending a day without news but couldn’t bear without blogs 🙂
February 20, 2009 at 7:10 am
A news break is an excellent idea! I wish I had seen your idea before I saw the Rhianna photo. And, really, what is with Joaquin? Maybe you know what creature is making him act like that?
I absolutely love all the fun, ‘love of life’ that is going on in this illustration. Your bunnies are fabulous as always, and those frogs are just putting a huge smile on my face. Makes me want to get up and skip and dance myself! 🙂

LET THE CHURCH SAY, ” AMEN, AMEN, and AMEN again! There is so much here in this post. It’s fun and whimsical. Great illustration I love the rabbits, but the frogs are just fantastic too! This is what I’m talkin’ bout!!! I tell my poor husband everyday that he just can’t watch the gloom and doom all the time. Sometimes ignorance is bliss! I totally agree and I ‘m taking this wonderful advice and so should we all.
Thanks for sharing this with all of us!
February 21, 2009 at 6:48 pm
Yes! I am taking a much longer break than a day actually.
February 22, 2009 at 11:43 am
Wheee.. the frogs are having the time of their lives, and they never felt this way before. I love the footloose turtle, and of course the waltzing-wabbits! I really like the way you painting the grass, and sky. It’s dancing right along with the characters.
Super rockin’ Linda!

Ignorance is blissfully wonderful at times. I try to tune the news out and live in the day as much as I can. Otherwise I’d be on antidepressants. Your sketches brighten any day!
