Welcome 2012!

December 31, 2011

Happy Happy Happy New (and Gnu) Year to everyone!!!

Along with 2011 ending so too concludes HoHoDooDa.

It was a fun ride and I want to thank everyone who followed along and cheered us on. I also want to thank Marion and Laura for being such great partners, for their support and for their many, many wonderful sketches. It really made this holiday season all the more special!

HoHoDooDa Day 29

December 29, 2011

Had a bit of a HoHoDooDa hiatus. Christmas was absolutely lovely, but it did use up a fair amount of energy.

So, gots to recharge for 2012.

Because it’s going to be a great year! That’s why!

Let’s hear it for 2012! This is our year! Right?

Don’t forget to stop by Marion and Laura‘s blogs to see what they have in store for us!

Pulling another one out of the mothballs, whilst I revel in all things Christmas Eve.

Have a wonderful holiday, everyone!!!

HoHoDooDa Day 22

December 22, 2011

I’ve been knee deep in cookie dough all night… wee hours of the morning actually. Looks like one of the little darlings made her way to HoHoDooDa !

Don’t forget to stop by Marion and Laura‘s blogs for more sweet treats!

HoHoDooDa Day 21

December 21, 2011

These two lovely turtle doves from last year’s Twelve Days series, graciously stepped in to take over the HoHoDooDa sketch tonight. They were very understanding about the decorating, wrapping, baking and all around spazzing that needed to take place tonight instead of a brand new sketch.

Thank you turtle doves.

Oh, right! They wanted me to make sure to wish y’all a Happy Winter Solstice!

Ok now, I just know there is something special waiting for you over at Marion and Laura‘s blogs.

HoHoDooDa Day 20

December 20, 2011

You better watch out!

You better not swim!

Don’t splash up and down.

Or stick out your limb.

Santa Jaws is coming to town!

Ok, now it’s time to swing by Marion and Laura‘s blogs to check out their HoHoDooDa doodles!

HoHoDooDa Day 19

December 19, 2011

A Super quick sketch tonight.

I don’t even think I need to explain why.

It’s December nineteeeeeeeeeeeeenth!

And of course you absolutely must stop by Marion and Laura‘s blogs for some HoHoDooDa eye candy!

HoHoDooDa Day 18

December 18, 2011

I love holiday cards. I love getting them, but most of all I like making them.

At least it starts out that way.

There’s the initial concept. Fun!

Sketching it up. Fun!

Drawing, painting, tweaking. Fun! Fun! Fun!

But then, there is the whole standing in line at the post office because I absolutely must have those special snowman stamps.

Followed by an attempt at addressing the cards and the subsequent admitting to people that I wrote their address on a scrap piece of paper last year and my cat batted it under the couch and apparently a spider drug it away to it’s nest, so could you pleeeeeeease give me your address for the fifteenth time… and I promise I’ll key it safely into my iPhone this time!

Couple that with the fact that I waited until pretty much the last minute, even though I promised last year and the year before that and the year… ok, the past ten years that I would start in August.

Before you know it, I’ve got a holiday card meltdown on my hands.

Does any of this sound familiar? Am I alone with this?

Anywho, fun? Not so much.

But despite the griping and moaning, after all is said and done, the truth is, it’s just not Christmas until I’ve sent off all my cards and, of course, I receive that very first card in the mail, be it Christmas, Hanukkah or Festivus (I’m still waiting for my first Kwanza card.)

I just love holiday cards!

It’s tradition! Every bit of it, from fun to meltdown and I hope it never goes away!

Now get yer elfin shoes over to Marion and Laura‘s blogs to see what HoHoDooDa fun they gave in store for you!

HoHoDooDa Day 17

December 17, 2011

Being Santa is hard work. I should know, I was a Santa all day today at the L.A. Santa Con. If you don’t believe me, check it.

Anyway, that’s my excuse for blowing off sketching again today. So here is yet another oldie from last year. Nice to have a wee bit of color here for a change too.

So, I solemnly swear I will post a new sketch tomorrow. No more cheating.

Now, Marion and Laura on the other hand, have some nice, fresh, beautiful sketches for your HoHoDooDa pleasure. So stop on by and say hello.

HoHoDooDa Day 16

December 16, 2011

As luck would have it, the holidays waylaid my sketching efforts today. So to fill up the HoHoDooDa hole I present you with a bit of silliness from last year.

It was Tom’s idea. He was on a bit of a pun roll last year.

As usual, there are holiday delights aplenty to be enjoyed over at Marion and Laura‘s blogs

HoHoDooDa Day 15

HoHoDooDa Day 14

December 14, 2011

Gone fishing. In other words, kinda doing some other stuff, other than drawing today.

Eh, it happens.

So, instead of HoHoDooDa-ing today, I slipped in this little guy from a couple of years ago.

It happens. Don’t judge.

But the gals who have been busily HoHoDooDa-ing today are Marion and Laura. So please, do check out their HoHoDooDa shenanigans!

HoHoDooDay Day 13
