Grace, thy name is Ignatz
February 18, 2015
This kitty-ballerina image (which is a redraw), came to mind a few years ago while staring at my kitty, Ignatz’s feets. I studied admiringly, Iggy’s pristeen white fur and pink toes, bringing to mind the white tights and pink shoes of a prima ballerina. That along with an almost preternatural grace she’s been known to exhibit, while padding, almost toe dancing across the fireplace mantle. She lithely slinks along this 3 inch wide path, past tons of chachkis and photos, with nary an item being knocked over.
The girl’s got mad grace-skills!
Of course, when I have to rescue a terrified, de-tailed lizard from under our bed, one of many she proudly trots into the house, the ballerina image dissipates rapidly. –Sigh.

SkADaMo 2013 Day 9
November 9, 2013
oIn an effort to assuage the annoyance of my cat Iggy towards all the doggies I’ve been drawing lately, I present to you:
“Cat’s Pajamas”
So, when you get a chance, swing by here and check out my fellow SkADaMoers (yes it’s a word. I know because I just made it up.)
Cheers!

“Melon Collie”
What’s with all the dogs lately? At least that’s what my cat Iggy seems to be saying, as she stomps across my keyboard. So I added a feline counterpart, for fear of retribution.
So hey, stop on by here and check out what the other SkADaMoers are up to
SkADaMo 2013 Day 2

Gato de los Muertos
Happy Dia De Los Muertos!
Actually, not sure that’s an appropriate salutation, but I do know that I love the art and culture of this Latino holiday! So in honor of the day and of all our dearly departed I thought I’d do a quick skeleton sketch… skeltch if you will.
So for more sketchy goodness, why not check out my fellow SkADaMoers here. Oh, and if I’ve left anyone out or I have the wrong link or what not, give me a shout!
IF: Totem (late)

THE BREMEN TOWN MUSICIANS
The Brothers Grimm
The donkey, the largest of them, approached the window and looked in.
“What do you see, Gray-Horse?” asked the rooster.
“What do I see?” answered the donkey. “A table set with good things to eat and drink, and robbers sitting there enjoying themselves.”
“That would be something for us,” said the rooster.
“Ee-ah, ee-ah, oh, if we were there!” said the donkey.
Then the animals discussed how they might drive the robbers away, and at last they came upon a plan. The donkey was to stand with his front feet on the window, the dog to jump on the donkey’s back, the cat to climb onto the dog, and finally the rooster would fly up and sit on the cat’s head. When they had done that, at a signal they began to make their music all together. The donkey brayed, the dog barked, the cat meowed and the rooster crowed. Then they crashed through the window into the room, shattering the panes.

A couple of weeks ago the Illustration Friday word of the week was “totem.” I’m telling you, time flies, because I’m just getting to it up now. Better late than never, I suppose!

ODE TO IGNATZ (Iggy)
With snowy white fur,
and a deafening purr,
her toes are like a pink pearl erasers.
My Ignatz is shy,
but you cannot deny,
she’s the great lizard hunter and chaser.

Hey! This might be my very first post to Illustration Friday… on Friday!!!! WeeEeeeEEE! Ok, ok, I know, it’s because this is a repost. But I think you’ll agree it’s a good fit for “Poise” and I did punch up the rhyme and reworded the whole thing a bit. That counts, right?

THE INTREPID CATPID
This little feline seraph is my entry in Dot at Dabbled’s Anti V-Day Contest. The idea is to do something a little darker or creepier than the usual Valentine’s Day fare. Where my little friend here lacks in darkness and creepiness, he more than makes up for in sheer convenience, as he was already created last year. I added a bit of blood in hopes that one of the judges might find it kind of dark… Creepy maybe… if you squint?
Alright, I’m tryin’ over here!

Check out Dabbled too, if you get a chance. It’s a wonderful place to visit!

IN A RACE AGAINST TIME
Murgatroid soon realized his race against Time was futile. What he did not realize, however, was that Time had, just that morning, tested positive for steroids.

The Illustration Friday theme this week is “Island,” and of course, the first thing that pops into my head when I here the word island are all the stories I’ve heard of the mythical hula kitty and her ukulele accompanying mouse Ray… living on an island in the Milken Sea.
Right… am I lyin’? Tell me that’s not the first thing that pops into your head.
kitty conundrum – or Purry Harry
September 10, 2008
I know what you’re thinking. “Did kitty roll over so I can rub his belly or is he lulling me into a false sense of security, so he can shred my arm?” Well, to tell you the truth, in all this excitement, I kind of lost track myself. But being as these are cat claws, the sharpest claws in the world, and would have you pulling back a bloody stump, you’ve got to ask yourself a question:
Do I feel lucky? Well, do ya, punk?
