knight owl

It’s been a while since I’ve posted an Illustration Friday. The theme this week is “knight”, so…

illusionary stretch

Is that a “Flock of Beagles” up there or is it just an Illusion?

I know this is a stretch for the Illustration Friday theme, “Illusion,” but this is what I was working on when I got the prompt in my inbox and… well… I squinted, then thought, yeah, this will work.

By the way, I was thinking about drawing a dog version of these guys… and you know, I might still. Watch out!

Hot!

April 4, 2017

For no apparent reason, I’ve redrawn this one image several times. However, this time my reason is the Illustration Friday’s Topic “Hot.” So, here you go… again.

Just in case your curious:

The third time.

The second time.

The first time.

Felt like I was overdue for an Illustration Friday submission. Way overdue for any kind of post. Sheepers!

Pygmy Possum

April 30, 2015

Pygmy possum, Perry, pathetically pining for pepperoni pizza pie, previously.

Sorry, the name just begs for further alliteration, don’t you think.

Want to add to it? You know you do.

So whilst researching for numbats I stumbled upon this wee Australian denizen and, well, just look at this. He’s already a cartoon! How can you not draw him? All the work is already done!

An added bonus, Illustration Friday‘s word this week is “tense.” I think this little guy seems a bit on edge, so off he goes to be submitted to IF, just under the wire.

Ninja Numbat

April 29, 2015

ninja numbats

A few weeks ago, the word of the week for Illustration Friday was “warrior” and this little dude came to mind. Didn’t get around to illustrating him that particular week, but he kept scratching around in my brain until I finally had to let him out, Illustration Friday or not.

If you don’t already know, a numbat is a cute little, termite munching marsupial who resides in Australia. Check him out here or here.

Strong

March 19, 2015

elephant strong We don’t always know our own strength.  The Illustration Friday theme of the week is “strong.” So I thought of the obvious choice. A mouse holding up an elephant… duh.

I’ve been dragon

dragon color2

Throughout history, literature and film, dragons have been considered nefarious critters. But I ask you, does Ashley here look odious, depraved or diabolical?

Don’t want to blow smoke up your tush, but I’m planning on setting the world on fire in 2015!

Ok, well, at the very least I’m going to stoke that fire in my belly and get some stuff accomplished!

How’s your 2015 so far?

…………………………………..

The Illustration Friday word of the week is “nefarious”, sooo…

..A PERFORMANCE YOU’LL NEVER FORGET

… although a  repeat performance may depend quite heavily on the tightrope’s tensile strength.

The Illustration Friday theme of the week is “repeat.”

So.

You know.

This.

1. Ducks do not make good leaders. Although they are arguably among the most optimistic of species, it is due in no small part to their chronic shortsightedness.

2. However, if you need to be bailed out, a bunny is the first critter you should call.

3. Bears will sink your boat.

VANITY, THY NAME IS LADYBUG

Feigning death among man-bugs is quite common when asked this particular question, according to leading entomologists. It is only the brave or perhaps feeble-minded who would hazard an answer.

Voice

March 5, 2014

The Illustration Friday word of the week is “voice.” So I decided to redraw yet another oldie. I better get off my duff and come up with some new ideas I suppose, eh?

COTTONTAILS IN SPACE

After successfully landing on the moon, Neil “Cottontail” Armstrong was famously quoted as saying, “One small step for a bunny, one giant hop for rabbitkind.

Space is the “Illustration Friday” word of the week. So I dusted this old chestnut off and redrew it.
